Maestro An impressive jet black stallion who stands over 16 hands, and has the temperament of a dove. His magnificent black sire is Dejado bred by Da. M. Femanda de la Escalera, the most recognized breeder of champion blacks in Spain. His dam was Encalada, a huge black 16 + hand mare of incomparable beauty, from the illustrious breeding farm of Rancho la Esmeralda. She died after only producing one other offspring, so consequently, we believe Maestro is quite valuable to the genetic pool. Maestro possesses great bone ( 9 1/2 in.) and substance, extraordinary cadence, generous spirit, and through movement, which he seems to pass on. He has a lovely, slow, suspended rhythm to his gates showing great balance and strength. He has begun his classical dressage training this year, and with his very sensible and magnanimous nature, we plan to be campaigning him and using him for high school exhibitions within the next two years. Granada K She is one of the jewels of our breeding program. This awesome black 16:1 hand imported marewas sired by Belico, a pure Carthusian stallion who after his importation from Spain became the Costa Rican national Champion. Her dam is Diablura who combines the famous Cardenas stallion Genil (Champion of Spain) with Intrusa II, from the famous breeder of black champions, Da. M. Fernanda de la Escalera. She bestows all her black babies with her regal nature, and impressive size. They have all matured to 16:2 hands and above and have shown great promise as dressage horses with talent for the higher levels.
